A couple of weeks ago, I stayed home from school because I felt a little bad. A few hours later, I found out my brother had a confirmed case of swine flu. The next day, my other brother was also sick. By this point, I knew I had the swine flu and I was bed-ridden.
I went to the doctor, who gave me Tami-Flu, which didn’t help a lot; I didn’t get out of bed for a week, and I am STILL feeling the effects of the H1N1 virus. It obviously affects teens and adults MUCH harder than small children; my brothers both got over it within a day or two.
I was so fatigued, it was unbearable. I coudln’t walk up a flight of stairs without being winded. It is still hard for me, and I am still running a low fever after two weeks.
My sinuses are very clogged, so I decided to try an approach other than Mucinex or prescription: saline washing, as in a neti-pot. Needless to say, I was freaked out by the idea: who wants to hawk up nasty stuff? I sure don’t. I’ll talk about the neti-pot business in my next post.
